KK Saves the Day was a charity compilation that helped save a puppy named Turtle. She had several costly veterinary treatments. Her owners paid out of pocket for her treatment, but really needed help with the bill. The tracks featured here are covers of songs by Totakeke- also called KK Slider or DJ KK- the ridiculously cool doggy musician from the Animal Crossing series. This comp was rushed into existence by a group of friends who make Nintendocore and chiptune music, and we hope you dig it!

Thanks a bazillion and twelve to all the artist on this comp. From the time I decided to make it, it was less than ten days before it all came together. Special thanks to Talon from A Challenger Approaches for finding the KK Soundfont for us, and for helping with planning, art, and some other little things too. I drew the pixel art of Totakeke, but he did everything else on the cover!

The original compositions were written by Totakeke's real-life counterpart, Kazumi Totaka. If you haven't played Animal Crossing, go do it! Like, right now! Support Mr. Totaka and Nintendo for giving us such awesome and lovable characters and music!
